Verse: “And whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23
Have you ever felt like your work goes unnoticed or unappreciated?Maybe you’re pouring your heart into a business, a ministry, or even into the daily tasks that keep your home running. It’s easy to wonder, Is this really making a difference?
But Colossians 3:23 invites us to see our work from a different perspective: as an act of worship.
When we view our work—whether it’s leading a team, serving a client, or packing lunch for the kids—as unto the Lord, everything changes. Excellence stops being about impressing a boss, earning applause, or growing on social media. Instead, it becomes an offering—a way to reflect God’s character in everything we do.
Excellence honors God.He is the One who gifted you with talents, passions, and opportunities. By giving your best, you reflect His nature: faithful, intentional, and loving. Your work, done with all your heart, points others to Him.
Excellence serves others. It shows respect, integrity, and care for those around you—clients, coworkers, family, and friends. It’s a way to love your neighbor through the work of your hands.
Excellence refines you.It challenges you to grow, learn, and trust in God’s strength even when you feel inadequate. It’s an invitation to depend on His grace every day.
So today, let’s commit to working with excellence—not for human applause, but as an act of worship.
Action Step:Choose one area where you can raise your standards today:
Maybe it’s in the quality of your products or services: can you add a thoughtful detail or go the extra mile?
Maybe it’s in the way you communicate with your clients: responding with grace, empathy, and respect.
Or maybe it’s in your own mindset: choosing to show up with gratitude and passion, even when things get hard.
Friend, when you work with excellence, you’re not just building a business—you’re building a testimony. Let’s keep moving forward, step by step, to honor God in every task. Because whatever you do, you are working for the Lord—and that is the highest calling of all.
Tell me below: In what area will you raise your standards today? I’d love to hear from you and cheer you on.
With Faith & Purpose,
Becky.
